girl on the street

A girl on the street in Dumbo, talking on her cellphone: “…and I think I gained some weight.”

Guy she’s walking past: “It looks good!”

Made my day.

Unroast: Today I love the way I laughed when I saw myself in on the security camera screen in the drugstore, because I looked awful, and it was funny.

Love that. I like it when people break out of their bubble and talk to strangers. Things like that ALWAYS make my day.

Agreed! There’s something so charming about someone deciding to give a compliment with no hope for further conversation. Makes you want to pay it forward and just tell that chick in front of you that her hair is amazing.

    Further proof that:
    a. How we perceive ourselves is not how others see us, and
    b. Men hate to converse with a woman criticizing her own body.

…to clarify, his “Looks good” comment shut down the whole tear-down she was about to launch about her weight. “Looks good”–end of discussion, next topic…

Love this — even though it’s hard for me to believe that thinner isn’t always better, I’ve found that guys love a little bit of curve 🙂

Compliments from strangers are the best. In high school, my weird friends and I decided to sit on a bench and give standing ovations to everyone that walked by. Just cause.

That is the sweetest thing I’ve heard in a long time. I hope she heard him and took it in.
